A couple weeks ago we were excited to harvest Arugula from beneath a light canopy of snow...well now we have two feet of snow in the garden! so not much harvesting happening. We're relieved that the hoophouse shed the snow, and look forward to uncovering the arugula in the garden if this snow ever melts! Looks like it will be around for a long time, so we'll just hang out in the hoophouse until then...

hi guys
it's impressive to see the snow mounted on the side of the hoophouse! It works: it does slide off the roof. I installed a small hoophouse at my place (25 miles west of you, at the foot of the mountains)this past fall, so we could continue to grow through the winter. While it's a lot more modest than Airlie's (only 12 feet wide by 20 feet long by 5 feet high), it's been very rewarding too! And the snow load was a concern of mine, but same thing, it slid off the sides.
Love growing through the winter. Thanks for encouraging people to do so.
